1   Short title

   This Act may be cited as the Sons and Daughters United Church of God (Incorporating and Vesting) Act.

2   Interpretation

   In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires-

   "the Church" means the persons for the time being associated in Jamaica under the name of "The Sons and Daughters United Church of God".

   "the corporation" means the Body incorporated by this Act.

3   Incorporation

   (1) The following persons, that is to say-

   Beris Morgan, Minister of Religion, President

   Rev. Rupert Poyser, Vice President

   Eustace Brooks, Evangelist, Trustee

   Veta Allen, Evangelist, Trustee

   Keith Shaw, Evangelist, Trustee

   Laurice Guy, Elder, Trustee

<TS:0.5,NM,NO>and their successors for the time being in the respective offices of President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Trustees of the Church as may from time to time be elected for the purpose for the time being by the Church at its Annual Conference shall be and are hereby declared constituted and appointed a Corporation of Body Corporate to have Continuance forever and perpetual succession by the name of "The Sons and Daughters United Church of God" and possessed of a Corporate Seal and by that name may sue and be sued in all Courts of this Island

   (2) No Act or proceeding of the Corporation shall be invalidated by reason of any vacancy in the Body or in any offices mentioned in the preceding subsection or by any defect in the appointment of any person to any such office.

   (3) The Seal of the Corporation shall be such design and pattern as the Corporation may from time to time determine.

   (4) Upon the recording in the Island Record Office or the lodging at the Office of Titles of a Certificate under the Seal of the Corporation of the appointment of any person to any of the offices mentioned in subsection (1) of this section, the persons named in such certificate shall be deemed to be the holders of the Offices therein named until the recording of lodging of a Certificate of the appointment of another person to such office.
